On the 28th of May, many people in Brisbane participated in Slutwalk.
Now, instead of me writing about it, and explaining the concept. I'll point you all towards another blog. *gasp* The comments page, actually.
I lead you to these comments to inform regarding the Slutwalk, but also because it refers to my facebook page. Haha.
Enjoy!

I'm a bit sore today after yesterday's SlutWalk from yelling and holding my sign up in the air for an hour, but it was worth it. It was a really positive, supportive, strong event, with some great messages and a lot of diversity amongst participants. There were also a lot of awesome men there too lending their support.
There are some great photos here - https://www.facebook.com/media...
TW Sexual harrassment, racism
I was, while marching, sexually harassed by one arsehole who obviously thought he was being super clever, and I did hear that I wasn't the only one.
Lugging my sign about the CBD afterwards was challenging but cool - a few people (men) smirked and glared, but plenty of people gave me big warm grins. I was also approached repeatedly with questions, and I got to use those opportunities to drop some statistics and facts on people. I also shocked one guy by saying that only white Australian men have ever harassed me or threatened me - he was expecting me to finger Lebanese men. So hopefully that message hit home for him too. Although that was very cool, it completely exhausted me - I'm an introvert, and I was on edge after the harassment and glares.
